LPA spotted inside PAR; ‘unlikely’ to become a tropical cyclone – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its latest update, Pagasa said as of 8 a.m., the LPA was seen over the coastal waters of Bolinao, Pangasinan.
“[It] is ‘UNLIKELY’ to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours,” the weather bureau said.

In a separate advisory, the weather bureau reported that light to moderate rains are forecast over the following areas as of 9:15 a.m. due to the LPA:
- Metro Manila
- Tarlac
- Cavite
- Zambales
- Pampanga
Pagasa added that the following areas are experiencing light to moderate rains with occasional downpours, which may affect nearby places too:
- Nueva Ecija
- Bataan
- Quezon (General Nakar)
- Bulacan (Dona Remedios Trinidad, San Miguel, Norzagaray)
- Rizal (Rodriguez, Antipolo, Tanay)

“The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices concerned are advised to MONITOR the weather condition[s] and watch for the next warning to be issued at 11:00 a.m. today,” said Pagasa. /apl
